Doug Bedford has spent over 35 years working in law enforcement and legal services and has been actively involved in the dog world for over 20 years.
He has owned, bred and shown Newfoundlands with a degree of success, making up Champions in over 15 countries.
Home bred Ch. Chateaunewf Hot Stuff won the BCC at Crufts in 2012 and the RBIS Crufts 2012 was sired by a his dog.
He is secretary of Herts & Essex BCS, whose March show schedules over 270 classes including St Bernard’s.
He started judging in 2008 and has judged many working and pastoral breeds in the UK as well as Newfoundland club specialties in France, Italy and Serbia. In 2013 he judged the English St Bernard Club Open Show and 2016 Paignton Ch show (non CC)
This will be his first St Bernard CC appointment.
